7TI-IE quit Mr. Burton. ITH the beginning of the school year last fall, we were in- troduced to -a new member of East High, Mr. Burton, our principal. The manner in which he has affiliated himself with our school, its customs, and its students is indeed remarkable. New customs and new rules have been inaugurated, to be sure, but surely there are none about which we can complain. The most notable innovation is that of the Students' Council which gives the pupils an opportunity to direct as well as participate in the activities of the school. Certainly appreciation is heartily felt for tl1e interest, the co-opera- tion, and the tactful guidance of Mr. Burton in all school affairs and op- portunity is thus taken to express to him our gratitude for his val- uable assistance during the past year.
