DEDICATION Friends and teachers always used to be two separate nouns, But more and more, we have seen them come together into one individual; an individual with dedication and responsibility as a teacher, and with compassion and faithfulness as a friend. On the next few pages, we'd like to show our appreciation to a few of these versatile people by dedicating this yearbook to them. These ar e just a handful of many individuals who have affected our years at East High. They cared, and they showed it. These are the kind of people who make high school life something more than just classes, lunch, and homework; and for this we are grateful. Mr. Kramer — Biology Finding a good teacher at East is an easy thing to do, but finding a teacher that has a genuine concern for the subject and the students is a bit more difficult. Anyone who has had a course with this amazing man will tell you that they giggled through it ... a student will often be found on the edge of his chair just listening to a lecture and absorbing every word. We will al- ways remember Mr. Kramer’s clear compre- hension of his students’ needs and all his finer qualities that made his courses vital and excit- ing. We thank him for a memorable year, and wish for him many more to come.

Friendship is usually the root of all ac- tivity at East High. For six hours a day, five days a week, it’s the strongest driv- ing force that makes the time spent here worthwhile. It’s not the school we have become attached to, but the people that have become a part of our lives through- out the school years. This 1974 Orient has been compiled in such a way so as to show how we feel friends have affected our years at East High. They’re indispensible. Like the song says: “You gotta have friends...”

Miss Cappellino — Language Jean Cappellino is more than just a teacher to the stu- dents she has come in contact with. She has befriended them all, and in so doing has made the hours spent with her in study more enjoyable. She has been an inspiration and an asset to us during our years in high school. Thank you, Miss Cappellino. ui Mr. Palleschi — Social Studies Usually there are only one or two kids that have had a teacher, and therefore are able to write about him. In this case, however, everyone knew Mr. Palleschi, and everyone wanted to write about him. He is a very popular person in this school. We think it may have something to do with his consistent presence in the cafeteria. We also thank him for being an excellent history teach- er and a patient, caring friend.
