VVo1.oA ST TH E PR INCI PAL'S MESSAGE During this year the thoughts and efforts of all of us at East High School have been centered first and foremost on the gigantic struggle in which our nation is at present engaged. Our thoughts are constantly of those from our ranks participating in it. VVe are greatly pleased with their visits to the school when on furlough and have enjoyed especially their attendance at our assemblies. ln the service ranks are many from your own class. Some left for service even before the Senior year began in September: others entered after the new term opened in january. This is truly a war year. Our congratulations to the Class of 19+-I for standing by the Ship, To produce such a line Urfrut as this one in a world of shortages is just one instance of your devotion to accomplishing some of those things that we want to preserve even in a world at war. VVe trust and believe that the effort you have given to your studies, your activities, and your social relationships will be of great value to you when you leave East High School.
