DEDICATION This year, there are numerous outstanding teachers at East High School who highly qualify for the yearbook dedication. Among these teachers, there is one particular person whom the Senior Class feels fits superbly for this position. With our warmest welcome, the class of 1988 would like to dedicate the 1988 Exodus to Mr. Gary Bloomstine. Mr. Bloomstine is very well-liked by many students. Here are some of his qualities the students have gladly mentioned: Understanding, Caring, Considerate, Patient, Intelligent, Modest, Helpful , Knowledgeable, Humerous, Dedicated, Organized, etc. For the past couple of years, he has been voted “the favorite teacher” in the Blue and Gold teachers popularity poll. Mr. Bloomstine attended Boardman High School at Youngstown, Ohio. At the age of 16, being a National Merit Scholar, he entered Youngstown State University, under a partial scholarship, where he eventually received his bachelors degree in Mathematics. He continued his education at Cleveland State University where he received his Masters degree in Mathematics. At the age of 20, he started teaching at East High School and has been teaching here for the past fourteen years. Mr. Bloomstine teaches Computer Science and Mathematics, including Advanced Math and Calculus AP. He is the advisor of the National Honor Society and the Whiz Quiz, Academic Action Chal-lenge Team.
