Whitaker's latest success, Poor Dear Ed- gar -The setting was again a little college town -Bill Haggerty as Edgar, was the yokel boy who made good, by saving the college-Antique autos, bass drums, cakes, pigeons, etc., all were in the play-Mollie Glasberg, Rose Altiere, Ioe Hubert, Margaret Bernard, Lewis DiLal1o, Angelo Mavrigan, Lucille Diorio, Frances Renaldy, Juanita Wining, Earl Krichbaurn, Alberta Dietz and Harry Meshel, in the supporting roles, turned in excellent perfor- mances-The play was the longest one ever given at East High. Among The Outstanding . An initiation different from those of preceding years saw thirty-six students honored because of their character, service, scholarship, and leadership. Poems introduced the speeches. While the speeches were being given a famous personality was represented in a frame. New members sat on the outside row in the auditorium, and walked directly to the stage. The annual Honor Society banquet followed the initiation. This was a spirited affair with speeches and dancing. The Society organized the Big Sister, Big Brother movement to influence students who have had the wrong start in high school.
