Among The Outstanding . An initiation different from those of preceding years saw thirty-six students honored because of their character, service, scholarship, and leadership. Poems introduced the speeches. While the speeches were being given a famous personality was represented in a frame. New members sat on the outside row in the auditorium, and walked directly to the stage. The annual Honor Society banquet followed the initiation. This was a spirited affair with speeches and dancing. The Society organized the Big Sister, Big Brother movement to influence students who have had the wrong start in high school.
