Webb, Marc, M.A. Lettermairs Club, Foot- ball, Baseball, Gym nastics Physical Education- Sfrong Body and Character Directing a sense of fair play, developing clean minds and strong bodies, providing relax- ing activities for leisure time, and helping boys and girls to become better skilled and coordi- nated, are the objectives of the physical educa- tional teachers and coaches. Girls participate in various sports that are divided seasonally into four nine-week periods. Sports day, held every fall, winter, and spring, gives the girls an opportunity to join girls from all six Wichita high schools in a day of fellow- ship and vigorous activity. Approximately 200 girls participate in the after school sport's program sponsored by the department. The boys' program is divided into three 12 week periods and is directed by ten instructors. Intramurals and competitive sports after school create activities for leisure time and develop the skills taught during class. , ,.
