It is a mixture of the abstract and the concrete, the tangible and the intangible. It is a blend of brick and mortar, emo- tions and friendships. A school is more than a mas- sive series of classrooms with halls to connect them. A school is more than an 'ginstitution of learrlingfl Empty halls and empty rooms have no purposei Their hollow, forlorn existence serves no one. They are useless . .. until filled with people. When the building doors open each morning, these rooms and halls vibrate in rhythm with the heartbeat of those who inhabit them. No longer is the building meaningless. No longer does it stand without di- rection. The school's purpose is reborn each day as people enter and pass through in search of knowl- edge. The students and faculty create its feelings and its personality. A school is many general things, yet each indivi- dual school is unique in its own way. What is East High School?
