With the help of 12 cadet teachers, the faculty directs 337 courses. They design classes to teach students of all abilities, ranging from the slow to the exceptional. In addition to the time-consuming job of classroom teaching, faculty members are also involved in extra-curricular activities such as clubs and committees. Rounding out the educational picture at East are the people who work behind the scenes sweeping halls, taking temper- atures, and preparing lunches. Through tests and personal inter- views, they strive to help students under- stand themselves and their opportunities in life. Counselors try to give each individ- ual a sense of adequacy so that he may accept the responsibility for his decisions and act in harmony with them.
