Information on scholarships and advice on vocations after graduation are given by Mrs. Eleanor King, senior counselor. Adding the personal touch to East, the Guidance Center, with its five counselors, is specifically maintained for the use of all students. Individual counseling on grades, credits, scholarships, and related school problems is given by qualified personnel. Preparing transcripts, organizing locker cards, and posting all absences are just a few of the jobs performed by the office staff whose aim is to have a smooth running school. Topics ranging from the heights of the heavenly bodies to the depths of the earth's core are discussed in the laboratory classes. Science students have reaped 16 awards in the annual Wichita Science Fair in the past two years.
