To all who have so ef ...mfr pi from kiiowirig him, the retirement of Mr. rel will iterate 1 loss that will be very hard to fill. Mr lic-tel was born in lndiana and graduated from In-.iiafii State Cfollege, later receiving his Masters Degree from the University of Kansas City. He began his teaching career in Mattoon, Illinois, l923. In 1926, Mr. Tiefel came to Kansas City as a member of the original faculty of East High School. He has remained always loyal to her, and his children are East graduates. Throughout his years at East, Mr. Tiefel has taught drafting. As sponsor of the Engineers' Club, he has helped countless numbers of students prepare for a career in the field of engineering. It is with deep respect and gratitude for his many contributions to East that we dedicate this, the 1966 Eastonian, to Mr. Ralph E. Tiefel. MR. RALPH E.
