The general theme for this week was Making Democracy Work. A more appropriate theme would have been hard to find. Leading citizens of our community planned the very successful open house which .vas held at East High on November 8. The many rooms of the building were open to parents and friends as students displayed their work. Various home rooms planned special displays, and such places as the science, wood-working, art, social science, and typing rooms proved to be centers of attention. At Christmas time Santa Claus visited the meeting and measured each girls waist which cost a penny an inch but the girls didn't mind for the proceeds went for the World Fellowship work. In the spotlight of all their activities was the formal ball held in February in all the swank and sophistication necessary to make ir a success. The girls have their serious moments too. The candle light recognition service in the fall for new members and the spring Easter program are always enjoyable for both old and new members.
