Eggington counselors my schedule just has to be changed . . . but my application has to be in today.. . what do you mean, i can't get a schol- arship? . . . if harvard and the u won't take me, where else can i go? . . . the problems which confront them daily are enough to make most people quit af- ter an hour or two, but our dedicated counselors grind out home excuses, talk to parents, and reason with irate students day in, day out, solving hundreds of di- lemmas each day. TYGHSLJYGI' keeping records of all the clubs' ac- counts, selling tickets to games, dances, and performances, handling the student body fund, and investigating the validity of vouchers, Mrs. Schuchert's task is not an easy one, but she performs it without error and still has a smile for the people around her. Social workers while few students ever have contact with the social workers, for the ones who do need their services they are among the most important people in the school. their understanding and perseverance make the difference between students dropping out of high school or graduating from college, between eventually becoming normal members of society or turning in- to welfare cases.

Taylor. board of education though far removed from the student body, the board of education makes many decisions which have a large im- pact on schools' daily affairs. it gov- erns such crucial areas as budgeting, po- licy-making, and faculty placement. p.t.a. fostering understanding between parents and faculty, the p.t.a. sponsors numerous events such as back to school night and the christmas musicale.
