He is left with the choice between further studies in college or immediate entry into the job market. But the resolution of this choice does not affect the significance of the high school years to a student. For it is in these years that one must begin developing directions in lifeis endless move- ment. The pressures are tremendous, the challenges awesome, and the oppor- tunities enonnous in scope: these are the phrases we, as high school students, often hear. Phrases cannot, however, do more than intimate the reality they attempt to express. The Final results are subject to the student's wills and abilities, and each individual's salvation lies in his ability to develop rewarding directions and carry them out with the best ability he has.
