Mary E. Caffey Miss Caffey, as Assistant Principal of East, has taken on her responsibilities with determination and discern- ment. A former East High graduate and faculty mem- ber, and the present foreign language superintendent for city schools, Miss Caffey has assumed the addi- tional assignment of dealing with faculty and curric- ulum at East. She has demonstrated her varied abili- ties in administration by becoming familiar with the needs of teachers and students, and by coordinating such activities as publications and commencement. Vi e Prin ipal LaMar W. Sorensen In the performance of his duties as Vice-Principal, Mr. Sorensen comes into direct contact with a large part of the student body, and in a variety of circum- stances. As supervisor of the Boosters and the Board of Control, as chief administrator of activities Cdances, games, rallies, partiesj, and as advisor to individual students with their large and small problems - he has come to be viewed as superman', to many people. But this is not what Mr. Sorensen is at allg if anything characterized him, it is his deep understanding of and dedication to education and youth, and these are pos- sibly the most human qualities of all.
