ELEANOR PYPER JOYCE BLACKHURST Joyce, as S.A.E. secretary, turned in a fine job. It will be a long time before you will forget her cheerful smile that helped put her high on the popularity list. From the beginning, when Elea- nor was voted in as the junior to hold the S.A.E. Vice-president post until now she has helped in every way from cheering the team on to victory to playing piano solos. Her willingness to help has made her a well-liked miss. JIM TJAS You were always seeing Jim discussing ways and means of getting another party or dance and deciding which kind would be most successful. His ardent fervor to do all that he could for East showed up in every situation. JOHN ASTIN John proved himself to be a very versatile president and an outstanding social leader and athlete. His readiness to support student body activities, eagerness to please all, and willingness to help everyone are some of the things that made John such a popu- lar figure, especially with the girls. The Legislators . . . Boosters A democratic student representative legislature was found in the well organized and efficiently run Booster council. This organization helped keep you informed on school activities and was the means by which all your opinions and suggestions were voiced in your effort to better dear East High. With the able assistance of Mr. Wilson they maintained all of the high standards East is so noted for.
