Its feet have been placed on the path of rectitude and honor that leads to its highest destiny. They are fortified with the knowledge of the sages and en- 'E riched by the dignity and beauty of associations with the faculty that defies compar- ,bi ison. Their first expression of gratitude is, therefore, tendered to those at whose its El kindly hands they were schooled to achieve their ideals of service. They are mioved, Exilim moreover, to mention here their sincere appreciation for the many agreeable contacts 'Ni LEU that the student body has provided. It would seem most presumptious for this article to attempt to pronounce a 'ig fitting panegyric of the training they have received at East High School, That task ig they confidently place in the broad lap of time, for time alone can accurately measure I the values of their labors. Broaching the subject of extra curricular activities, they pm 1332235 recall with particular delight many names and affairs. In hope of engraving in- delible characters, in the memories of the members of the Senior Class, this article , will attempt to recount those features of their history, to which most pleasant mem- tgp ories are attached. The organization of the class of '28 was affected in the fall of 1925 under the leadership of Ed McGean, the sophomore president, and its development was con- tinued during the junior year with Jack Fike in the chair. The class chose for its ,, leaders for the final year: Dan Moffat, president, Eva Covey, vice-presidentg Ed- in -T QQ mond Newman, secretaryg and Ed McGean, treasurer. 6 JR , Many members of the class of '28 have ably represented East High in athletics. lm ' Those who bear prestige of noteworthy athletic achievement are Bob WVilkin, Sam Whitney, Jack Fike, Rees Llewellyn, Charles Mabey and Glen Myers. fl, -cn The two school publications have progressed splendidly under the direction of J i two members of the class of '28, Douglass White and Tom Carrigan. Signal service e D if If to the East High has been rendered by Bill McCrea, who represented his alma mater mf if in the National Oratorical Contest. if The Senior Class has contributed generously to the other curricular activities. ,EA The leading roles in the annual school play were taken by Steve Richardson and !'ff Adpianne Og. Many members of the class have been active in the glee clubs, orc iestra an opera. iii! Social life of the Senior Class has played a leading part in the school curriculum. These activities do not take place until near the end of the school year, but are iii looked forward to the whole year 'round. Chief among these are High School Day 35' at the University of Utah, Senior Sluff Day, and the Senior Girls' Breakfast and X ' ea. .
