CLASSES ii. inlkl' The Junior cadets rotate into their vacant places, taking over the Senior prerogatives with grace and skill. They look with disapproval on underclass cadets who stray off limits and need reprimanding from the assistant com- manders. Happily the Sophomore cadets feel a new importance as they emerge from their basic training, while the Freshman, abashed in the presence of the Seniors, learn that all play and no work will not lead to desired goals. The training course at Air Base East is four years. As soon as tl -ey have received their wings, the Senior cadets will fly away to new horizons. To them we wish smooth runways and clear flying weather always. Should fate decree otherwise, we do not fear for them. They have learned how to manage their craft in fair weather or foul and on all kinds of land- ing fields. The East Wind carried out the spirit with its Christmas issue. The German Club packed boxes of food and clothing to send to Germany, while the French Club brought cheer to Meyer Memorial Hospital with scrapbooks, games, cookies, and French carols. To close the festivities, our Christmas assembly with movies, carols, and orchestral music sent us off to vaca- tion with a warm and generous Christmas Spirit. decorates its Christmas Tree carols for the V 5.1 Miss Buerger presents the Christmas display from Germany.
