Story Book Characters Come Alive Once again the Girls' Club spon- sored a Patch Dance. The dance, an a annual girl-ask-boy dance, did not seem too popular, but the cou- ples attending the event had a grand time. This year's theme, Story Book Time , offered a number of chances for costume ideas, as the girls worked to create the best costume. Fall Play See How They Run Amu5ing, Gay Philip King's play See How They Run was presented as the fall play November 13 and 14 in the East audi- torium. The play, directed by Mr. Canfield and student directed by Kris Anderson, proved to be a rol- licking comedy about an ex-actress' life as the wife of a vicar. Adding to her difficulties was the appearance of her former leading man, her visit- ing uncle a bishop, a Russian spy, a substitute minister, the neighbor- hood snoop and a somewhat befud- dled maid. Behind the scenes Dave Walters act- ed as stage manager, and Brian Ger- vol and jack Boese worked diligently designing the sets. Lionel Toop meets Miss Skillon over a drink. The plays, an annual production of the East High drama department, give students not only a chance to act but to show off their directing talents as well. Gail Ple- wacki directed Eh? , Michelle Stronach directed Please No Flow- ers , Randy Truax directed f'The Darkest Hour , and Wendy Miller directed The Mice Have Been Drinking Again . Twenty-two stu- dents were cast in roles for the night of one-acts. Not pictured is the play directed by Randy Truax.
