East Carnival just For Fun The first carnival in East's history was planned as a fun night for everyone. The activities were co-sponsored by the National Honor Society and the Student Council and organized by john Miller CNHSJ and Dave Spicer The gym was jammed with students coming to see East's first carnival. Body painting covered much skin area. Here lim Schwerdt shows his patriotism. 16 Carnival lS.C.l. Different organizations in the school sponsored booths. One could hit a teacher in the face with a pie, win a bottle of pop at a ring toss, race a turtle, bob for apples, send a tele- gram, or just do something different. ,. ...A ,.aA5,V,.,., A A . Fall Play See How They Run Amu5ing, Gay Philip King's play See How They Run was presented as the fall play November 13 and 14 in the East audi- torium. The play, directed by Mr. Canfield and student directed by Kris Anderson, proved to be a rol- licking comedy about an ex-actress' life as the wife of a vicar. Adding to her difficulties was the appearance of her former leading man, her visit- ing uncle a bishop, a Russian spy, a substitute minister, the neighbor- hood snoop and a somewhat befud- dled maid. Behind the scenes Dave Walters act- ed as stage manager, and Brian Ger- vol and jack Boese worked diligently designing the sets. Lionel Toop meets Miss Skillon over a drink.
