KARL GOERZ, PRINCIPAL Although East High is a comparatively young school, we have grown in stature and prestige in our com- munity, and within our state. Life here is pulsating with energy, and with it higher goals are attained and new records continue to be made and old ones relegated to history. This book-of-memories records the rapid growth of our student body and teaching staff, the wide variety of opportunities for student participation in school activities, and many aspirations and ambitions of the students you have met while at East. Experiences you have enjoyed during your high school years will come alive when paging through this book, and in each succeeding year the memory of these days will grow increasingly dear. Education has many rich by-products, not the least of which is lasting friends. No better record can be kept than what is contained in these memoirs. The spirit and enthusiasm of your school is evident in the numerous co-curricular and academic activities which were promoted by your efforts. During the past year we have not always been vic- torious in contests, nor have we reached every de- sired goal. However, the strength and progress of East becomes evident when perusing through these pages. It is my hope that the experiences you have enioyed here may inspire you to a life of dedication to others.
