w I Mr. Karl Goerz, Principal It is my sincere hope that this book will serve to refresh your memories of the years you spent at East High School. Here you have worked with your faculty and class- mates to train your mind and develop your talents in preparation for a successful future. This Birch Log is a record of your many distinguished accomplishments of the past year, an account of the friends you have made and the activities you have enjoyed together. These are stored herein for a life time. May its contents serve as an in- spiration to strive continuously for the ideals you have conceived in your high school years. The eagerness for success you now possess will be revived each time you turn these pages of your past. As you ponder in retrospect in future years, many of these pages will come alive and illumine your days.
