With an even break of lO0 points equaling a l4.3 average per game, the captain, Wayne Peterson, lead the team in scoring and also breaking records set by former East students Buzz Bennett and Bob Evanson. Taking second in scoring honors is Frank St. Clair with 57 points. When East played Morgan Park, they went the limit when they hit 48 points, going over their opponents by 18. In this game alone, Wayne Peterson dropped in 22 points. In the first game that edged them out of the conference, the Greyhounds were forced into an overtime only to be nicked by one bucket, leaving the score at 48-46 in favor of Proctor. To make matters all the worse, they came back again losing by one bucket to Lincoln when the score stood at 26-24. The game in which East reigned supreme as far as the difference in point range was the East-Stowe game where our boys trampled over their game foes by a 27-point margin, the final tally- 37-IO. ln the last three years in which the team was coached by Mr. Williams, we were city Champs twice, we won in that period of time 23 games and lost only 3. Receiving their five-inch letters this year were: John Newstrom, Student Manager, Wayne Peterson, Captain, Frank St. Clair, Kent Henricksen, Smith Brookhart, Kern Lyon, Noble Sellwood, Bernard Rogers, John Hanson, Ray Quelland. Other players who were a great asset to the team but did not play long enough in games are: Louis LaCheck, John Wallberg, Donnie Snyder, Jim Broman, Charles Applequist, James Lake, Burt Schweiger, Lyle Anderson, Keith Henricksen, A mighty swell team and coach, we all agree. .
