A Place To Hang My Hat When looking back on our high school years, the things we might remember most could be friends, teachers, and studying. We overlook the things that didn't demand our attention, like our lockers, but they were important because they gave each of us our own little place to call home. In the early days of our freshmen year, our lockers created what we thought at the time were tremendous problems for us. Half of us couldn't open them and the other half couldn't reach the tops. Once we got used to them, no one was without one. Lockers were a place to keep our books and coats, but we also found other uses for them. Many times a locker took the brunt of an argument or helped in releasing a little tension by being punched, slammed, or kicked. We also found that lockers were a great place to gather around. Meet me at my locker, or I'll meet you at your locker were common phrases to us all. Most of us really didn't care what our lockers looked like, but some of us did, and decorated them. The walls were covered with posters and stickers, and there were even a few with mirrors. Throughout the school, the sound of lockers opening and closing echoed constantly. When thinking back we may push the memory of our lockers aside, but without them, we would have been lost. 1

This Time, Let's Do It Right! We were dedicated, hard working, and proud. This is just a brief description of those of us who participated in afterschool activities. We realized that to accomplish what we wanted took hard work and devotion. Most of these students started practice right after school, only taking time to catch a quick bite to eat. After lunch, they started practice and continued for the rest of the afternoon. The coaches made sure that everyone did his best, even when students sometimes felt that too much was expected of them. Through it all. the good performances and the bad, the triumphs and the losses, we were a team. Each of us gained something far more valuable than personal glory . We learned to be dedicated, determined, and satisfied when we knew we had given it our best. 12
