Four years seemed like a long time to continue studying a lan- guage vve thought we already knew, however after a review of grammar in our freshman year, we found that there was much we had forgotten and much still to learn. As sophomores we applied these fundamentals to the improvement of our reading comprehension, speak- ing, and creative writing. In our iunior year, we con- tinued reading comprehension. Seniors, at last, we found ourselves reading more of the works of famous authors-non fiction as well as fiction, reading and writing short shories, essays, and character sketches. After our four years of English grammar and com- position and literature, we realized that vve had laid a foundation for what could be a lifetime of study or en- ioyment of the written or spoken word. lsr' .CYLv Now Lad es CATHERINE HEASLEY University of Glasgow, Scotland Debating Club, Publicity.
