On Monday, December l9th, we gathered at the school and boarded busses for the Monte Green Inn, where we all had a most enjoyable evening. Christine Carlson was selected by the Senior Class and Faculty as DAR winner. Vera Boiko won the Betty Crocker award with the highest score on the test which was given to all girls in the Senior Class. The top ten Seniors of our class were as follows: Valedictorian, Christine Carlson, Salutatorian, Thomas Gallagher, Essayist, Vera Boiko, Roberta Sprague, George Sandin, Skip Spencer, Sandra Fussell, Janet Hill, Carolyn Taylor and Joanne Sibley. lt was on April 18th that we finally left for our long-awaited trip to Washington, D. C. The time seemed to fly by and before we knew it, it was time to pack at the Hotel 2400 and come home again. Senior Week began with the Senior Ball on June 9th, the chairmen being Sandra Conover and Bill Burridge. The dance was a success as all our dances have been, but there was a note of sadness in the air that night. Each of us felt that special kinship toward all our classmates that one feels only just before and forever after graduation. June l5th, Graduation, and our last day at East Hampton High School brought feelings that were at the same time terrible and wonderful. We left with our childhood behind us and a marvelous golden future before us, and shall always look back because we have moments to remember.
