ref st.. S 5 .ttltwbt 3 .wma wrt un The Iunior Prom proved to be the most outstanding scene in the many memorable ones of our lunior Year. As the end of the school year drew near we looked forward with courage and hope to the numerous tasks ahead of us, and the praise- worthy position of full-fledged stars-Dignified Seniors. SENIOR YEAR The highest rung of the ladder had been reached: we now received top billing as Seniors and we bravely undertook all the duties and re- sponsibilities accredited to Seniors. The annual Senior Tea was held following an assembly in which the incoming Freshmen, the future stars, were welcomed and introduced to the various activities of the school. Refreshments were served and the preview was terminated by dancing. Under the competent leadership of Mr. Ferrigno and Miss Higgins, our directors, we shouldered what no other class had ever undertaken-a class trip to Canada. We immediately planned numerous activities for the tremendous task of raising money for the trip. We began the year with a record dance to which both the Senior and Junior High were invited. This was followed by other activities, the most outstanding being the Christmas Formal, which was preceeded by a dinner at Marlborough Tavern. Everyone agreed that it was one of the best performances of the year. In Ianuary a card party and raffle were held. Charles O'Neil, after three previous years of leadership, again ap- peared in the leading role of class president, with the supporting cast of Carol Rudolph as Vice President, Shirley Burnham as Treasurer, and Florence Oliver as Secretary. With Milton Nichols and Richard Wilkes serving as President and Vice President of the Student Association, we elected Roger Clark, Eliza- beth lsleib and Arthur Iohnson as members of the Student Council and Ioseph Banning, Eleanor Blish and Harriet Berlage as members of the Student Assembly. The long awaited Senior Day finally arrived with President Charles O'Neil directing as P rincipal. The traditional Class Night and banquet, at which we thanked all those who helped us in our four years of High School will never be forgotten. With the closing of the year the most important event of our high school career took place-commencement. We received our long coveted diplomas, passports to greater things in the future. To: Oracle From: Advertising Department Re: Coming Attractions Here we are, Mary and Harriet. on our way to the Star Theater in Hollywood to see the world premiere of Carlson Follies of 1957, pro- duced and directed by Ronald Carlson, wealthy New York play boy, and starring that noted actress Mila Kuritz. Arriving at the theater we find ourselves amid millions of famous people. Looking around we notice Wanda Pasternak and Mary Farley, that unique writing team, very much engrossed in conversation. Standing in front of us in the line to the ticket booth is none other than the noted Congresswoman Carol Rudolph. Accompanying Miss Rudolph is her secretary, Barbara Ackley. Finally we are in the theater making our way through the crowded aisles to our box. As we settle in our seats we hear familiar voices coming from the next box. Turning in that direction we find ourselves face to face with Louise Keefe, Eleanor Blish and Ioan O'Neil, teachers at Boston University who have come to California to attend a teachers' convention. The lights dim, the curtain goes up and the news reel begins. Our first stop is La Guardia Airport in New York. Here we find Florence Oliver, Air Hostess on the President's private plane, The Sacred Cow. The scene now changes to the Yankee Stadium, where we see Ioseph Ban- ning and Norman Ingraham playing in the World Series garne. As we glance around at the spectators we notice Roger Clark, well known re- porter of the Sunday Herald. Accompanying Mr. Clark is the renowned lawyer, Milton Nichols, who has just finshed the famous case, Vitamin Flintheart versus Influence. 27
