S. as greenhorns, extras, cmd were dramatically welcomed by the seasoned players, the Seniors of '44. During our first year, we played no major roles, but merely learned the ropes and the gentle art of acting like high school students. Our first production Freshman Year was directed by Mr. Amejko and Mrs. Hughes, co-starring Sonny O'Neil as President, with Virginia Meagher as Vice President, Ioan O'Neill as Treasurer, Corinne Moard as Secretary, in the supporting roles. The rest of us put in a good per- formance and many showed promise of becoming good actors in the great drama of E. H. H. S. The main sequence in Freshman Year was the Freshman-Sopho- more Hop which brought out our best talent. As the year came to a close and the curtain rang down on another performance completed, we looked forward to producing a bigger, better performance in Sophomore Year. SOPHOMORE YEAR ' Sophomore Year, our second production will always be remem- bered for its excellent acting and scenes. It was directed by Mrs. Remy and starred Sonny O'Neil as President, Corinne Moard as Vice Presi- dent, Florence Oliver as Secretary, and Louise Keefe as Treasurer. The most beautiful scene was the Sophomore Hop which will long be remembered for its Spring decorations and splendid acting. We began to take more important roles and proved our worth in starring in the cast of the Powder and Puff Play, Tiger House. The second most important section of our Sophomore drama was the successful operation of penny-dancing. As Sophomore Year closed we looked forward to producing Iunior Year in which we would begin to major in the drama of E. H. H. S. IUNIOR YEAR At last, the chance we have been waiting for, a major role in our high school career-Upper Classmen. The stars of our show were Charles O'Neil, Milton Nichols, Florence Oliver and Louise Keefe. Our directors were Miss Garland and Miss Bell. We were represented in the Student Council by Harriet Berlage, M.il- ton Nichols and Richard Wilkes. They contributed to the formation of a new Student Govemment and Student Constitution. In the first election of the new govemment, Milton Nichols was elected President and Richard Wilkes Vice President for the following year.

As the end of the school year drew near we looked forward with courage and hope to the numerous tasks ahead of us, and the praise- worthy position of full-fledged stars-Dignified Seniors. SENIOR YEAR The highest rung of the ladder had been reached: we now received top billing as Seniors and we bravely undertook all the duties and re- sponsibilities accredited to Seniors. The annual Senior Tea was held following an assembly in which the incoming Freshmen, the future stars, were welcomed and introduced to the various activities of the school. Refreshments were served and the preview was terminated by dancing. Under the competent leadership of Mr. Ferrigno and Miss Higgins, our directors, we shouldered what no other class had ever undertaken-a class trip to Canada. We immediately planned numerous activities for the tremendous task of raising money for the trip. We began the year with a record dance to which both the Senior and Junior High were invited. This was followed by other activities, the most outstanding being the Christmas Formal, which was preceeded by a dinner at Marlborough Tavern. Everyone agreed that it was one of the best performances of the year. In Ianuary a card party and raffle were held. Charles O'Neil, after three previous years of leadership, again ap- peared in the leading role of class president, with the supporting cast of Carol Rudolph as Vice President, Shirley Burnham as Treasurer, and Florence Oliver as Secretary. With Milton Nichols and Richard Wilkes serving as President and Vice President of the Student Association, we elected Roger Clark, Eliza- beth lsleib and Arthur Iohnson as members of the Student Council and Ioseph Banning, Eleanor Blish and Harriet Berlage as members of the Student Assembly. The long awaited Senior Day finally arrived with President Charles O'Neil directing as P rincipal. The traditional Class Night and banquet, at which we thanked all those who helped us in our four years of High School will never be forgotten. With the closing of the year the most important event of our high school career took place-commencement. We received our long coveted diplomas, passports to greater things in the future.
