46 THE CRIMSON Our next usrtors were the South Klngston boys lt seemed as though our team couldn t get golng IH thxs game The score w as 84 l4 wrth the South County men the vlctors The team then trayeled to Lockwood l-llgh nn order to play the J V s Thrs was an ex cxtmg game one ln whlch our men were able to hold thexr own through all quarters Our team managed to keep a nye pomt lead Eyeryone of our boys played a very good game 'l he score was 15 8 Our boys then journeyed to Barrmgton and encountered a powerful team We had them worrled for the first Eve mxnutes but our opponents soon forged ahead rolllng up a score of 63 3l We returned to our own floor and played the St Andrews J V qumtet Although our opponents had a very good defense we were able to score l8 pomts Our boys held the hard fightmg St Andrews team to 33 pomts Our last game was played wrth the R I School for the Deaf Durmg the game the worrned because our team was three pomts ahead wlth twenty seconds to go The Deaf boys txed the score ln the overtrme the R l Deaf team rolled up five more pomts whnch made a score of 37 32 Dur boys however had played an excellent game We extend our smcere thanks to Mr Clmton L Whnte and Mr I: J Gordon our coaches and to Mr R H Mrtchell who scheduled our games Thelr untlrmg effort on our behalf are greatly apprecrated by the team CHEER I FADERS ln red flared skxrts and white sweaters and led by Nancy Nnchols who was ably supported by Beverly Eddy and Glorra Maddalena the cheer leaders were a fittmg example of the splrxt and the determmatxon to wxn of the student body of East Greenwlch Hxgh School T hrs year therr enthusxastxc support spurred on the basketball team fl he advxser of thus small but vigorous group was 'Vlxss Whrtney V. .
