FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA Fifty-six active members are enrolled in the Perkiomen Chapter Future Farmers of America. The Chapter officers are President, Ralph Shelly, Vice-President, Walter Hammg Secretary, Robert Schwoyerg Treasurer, Richard Bielerg Reporter, Tom Aliffg Sentinel, Carl Bardman. The boys are under the supervision of Mr. Ensminger, the adviser, placed a winning exhibit at the Reading and Allentown Fairs, and also at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show. The Chapter participated in a number of activities throughout the school year, which are as follows: radio broadcast over station WBUX, conducted a successful F.F.A. and F.H.A. dance, entered four members in the Chicken of Tomorrow Contest, entered the Pennsylvania Electric Association essay contest, entered Z1 member in the regional Public Speaking Contest, conducted two group broiler projects, and constructed ten air-compressors which were sold to local farmers, and finally, sponsored a successful Future Farmer Basketball team. To encourage democracy in home and community life. 4. To work for good home and family life for all. 5. To promote international good will. 6. To foster the development of creative leadership in home and community life. 7. To provide wholesome individual and group recreation. 8. To further interest in home economics.
