'Tv Class History In September, 1944, we embarked on our voyage through E. G. H. S. with 79 students, of which 54, were non- resident students. Hfter overcoming our initial shyness, many friendships were formed that will last far into the future. Hs bashful freshmen we chose the following class officers: President, Charles Wetzel, Vice-President, Stanley Godshall, Secretary, Shirley Emele . . . chose navy blue and gold as our class colors . . . had a seemingly serious romance between Betty Wiegner and Gene Flngstadt. Flfter becoming acclimated to our new environ- ment we settled down to three more years of hard work. Hs sophomores fwise fools! We had a class enrollment of 67. Our president was Gene Hngstadt, our vice- president, Robert Smith and secretary-treasurer, Helen Geiger. Our main subject that year was English, as taught by Miss Delilngelis. We can never forget H Tale of Two Cities and those barrages of paper airplanes soaring about the room, can we, Ioanne? This was also the year We witnessed a love triangle Within our class ranks. The members of the triangle were Evan Kranzley, Mary Pfrommer and Lorraine Ritter. There was quite a bit of rivalry for a while, but Mary finally emerged victorious. Qnother romance, which is still going strong, was started then, This concerned Phyllis Hillegass and Bill Flckerman. Hmong some of the extra-curricular affairs was a class party, which was held in the Realty Hall. We had refreshments, dancing, games, and all had a good time. Rs busy juniors we eagerly welcomed six new classmates from Red Hill. For our class officers we chose: Evan Kranzley, President, Gene Plngstadt, Vice-President, Helen Geiger, Secretaryg and Charles Wetzel, Treasurer. We ordered our class rings in October and were overjoyed at their comparatively early arrival in Ianuary. We set February 22 as the date of our Iunior Prom, and signed Bob Smith and his orchestra to furnish the music. However, King Winter had other plans, and threw a blizzard that week-end. The orchestra was un- able to make it and we postponed the Prom to March 22. It seemed that the postponement was in our favor, because we presented the most successful Iunior Prom ever to be given at E. G, Hfter the success of our Prom, we turned our attention to a play. The committee selected l'Growing Pains and it was presented in the Grand Theatre on Hpril 29 and 30. This, too, was a smashing success. This was a year of many new romances. To mention a few: Mary lane and lim . . . Helen and Charles tliershner, that isj . . . Evan and Norma Edge. You could always hear Norma Hckerman and Esther Ben- field discussing Iohnny and Fritz, even while eating. Now at last we are seniors. With an enrollment of 57 boys and girls we chose the following class officers to guide us through our senior year: President, Evan Kranzleyg Vice-President, Gene Ftngstadt, Secretary, Betty Wiegner, and Treasurer, Charles Wetzel. Entering our Senior year we found ourselves engulfed in a new regime. But we as seniors managed to adjust ourselves to the various changes which accompanied it. Our name cards and pennants arrived early due to the efficiency of our class secretary. Under the guidance of Mrs. Groome We chose our class play Dear Ruth. But due to circumstances beyond our control the play was postponed until our new director, Mr. Carmody took over. It was given February Z6 and 27 and was a sell-out both nights. We were proud to see Don Huber and Gene Hngstadt come out in the upper ten per cent of 46,112 seniors taking the Pepsi Cola Scholarship Test. Now with about three months to go until graduation, We still have a lot to look forward to and to accomplish: the completion of the Conifer, which we hope to make better than ever . . . our Senior Prom coming up on May 22, for which we have signed The Harry Romig Orchestra under the direction of Matt Gillespie . . . a top-flight senior assembly . . . and finally on Iune 3, our commencement exercises, the first to be held in our new auditorium. 0 T1 if 9 1' 4-41

Baseball Play Ball! is the cry that can be heard the first day Mr. Robin leaves out with a chirp of springtime. This cry was shouted by a record turnout of titty-two boys including four lettermen who re- ported for practice under the coaching ot Mr. Roth and Mr. Guldin. This year the team has or ten game league schedule and also has two games scheduled with Coopersburg which is not in the league. league championship. S C H E D U I.
