Layser, D. Christmcn, K. Hendricks. Girls' Basketball The Greenies, handicapped by lack of facilities for practice, got off to a poor start with a 30-21 loss to West Pottsgrove. However, the season became more successful as the next few games were played and the girls had a chance to practice in the new gym. The whole season was marked by the line spirit and co-operation shown in overcoming the faults caused by inadequate practice by the girls in the initial portion ot the season. The Greenies showed this fine spirit by winning six out ot eleven games and by tying tor second place in the league. On a large part this was due to the encouragementyand able coaching of the team by Mrs. Moser. The highest scorer of the season was Gloria Christman with 112 pointsg Betty Freed followed with 66g Ruth Elaine Freed scored 43. The remaining number of points were scored by Betty Baseley and Mary Iane Hillegass. Basketball This year for the first time in the history of East Greenville High School, the E.G.l-l.S. Cagers had a gymnasium they could call their own. Since the court was not completed at the time scheduled, the Greenies and their new coach, Mr. Guldin, got off to a late start. The Greenies were overpowered by their lirst few opponents. They took these lacings with- out losing their spirit or Sportsman-like ways. The team gradually improved and came back to give every team they met a tough time, and left memories of well-played and hard-fought games to many sports-loving spectators. Most of the scoring honors went to the underclassmen. Richard Ziegler had 126 points. Rich- ard Leister had 61 points. Raymond Stoneback had 43 points.
