F.HLIL The organization has been entitled Future Homemakers of Hmerica, and the members are referred to as Future Homemakers of Iflmerica. The letters of F, H. H. are being used to designate the organization, its units, or its members. The purposes which this organization will serve are as follows: l. To promote a growing appreciation of the joys and satisfaction of homemaking. 2. To emphasize the importance of worthy home membership. 3. To encourage democracy in home and community life. 4. To work for good and family life for all. The F. H. Fl. was organized here at East Greenville High School in February, 1947. The following officers were elected in September for 1947 and '48: President-Iune Fox Secretary-Esther Benfield Vice-Presidents-Norma Plckerman Treasurer-Marian Moyer Geraldine Stahl Recreation-Eleanor Miller Eleanor Miller, Betty Baseley, Norma Hckerman, and Esther Benfield represented the Homemakers at the Harrisburg State Farm Show. They were accompanied by Mrs. Yoder. The girls worked in the Chain Store Council booth one day, preparing vegetables to be served to the Farm Family. Norma Ftckerman and Esther Benfield wrote a song dedicated to the F, H. H. which won a special prize for original words and music. Fl window display at Pomeroy's Department Store in Harrisburg won first prize for the Homemaking Depart- ment. The award consisted of twenty-dollars, a silver cup, and a pressure-cooker. E. Kreider won second prize and seventh prize in competitions sponsored by the Pennsy vania Electric Association and the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Commission respectively.
