Orchestra The orchestra, under the direction of Mrs. March, provides music for the plays, operetta, and other school functions. The orchestra is organized for the second semester ot each year and is used tor activities occurring during this period of time. Rehearsals are held every week during activities period. The instrumentation this year consists of four violins, two clarinets, one baritone, three trumpets, one Xylophone, one tenor saxophone, one alto saxophone, one guitar, two snare drums, cymbals, bass drum, and piano. Then you should join the band. Besides receiving training, you can attend all football games, and participate in all pep rallies and other school functions. The band, through participation in parades and concerts, collected enough money to pur- chase new uniforms this year. The uniforms are military in style and black and gold in color. Coats and hats were purchased and the band is hoping in the future, to purchase pants to match their coats and hats. . This year almost forty boys and girls wished to become members of the band. Thirty of these candidates were given the new uniforms and several others wore capes. Thus the membership of the band numbered approximately thirty-five boys and girls. The bancl is exceedingly appreciative of its fine director, Mrs. March, without whose untiring efforts, very little could have been accomplished. A also to the faithfulness and co-operation of the band members. Let's give credit where credit is due, and salute our band with pride. large measure of the band's success is credited to the interest of parents and friends and 33

Krcmzley Let Them Be Heard lf you hear singing while you walk through the corridors of our high school, it will undoubt- edly be the sixty-three voices of our Glee Club. This organization shows its talent at many community functions and at various assembly programs. This year the Glee Club is giving a concert with the orchestra and band. Some of the feature songs will be Country Style, Mighty Like A Rose, and the ever popular Fred Waring ar- rangement of Onward Christian Soldiers. The Glee Club will sing at Commencement, Bac- calaureate Services. They have also participated in many assembly programs and are look- ing forward to an operetta production next year.
