President's Message As we near the end of a never-to-be forgotten period in our lives, We realize that the most important part of our lives lies before us. The future of us, the coming generation, is a most important factor in the future of our nation. The familiar quotation, All the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players, is definitely applicable to our own future. We shall be the coming doctors and lawyers, the ministers and teachers, the stenographers and clerks, the carpenters and plumbers who will carry on the nation's work. I, as president of the senior class, proudly say that we shall carry on the responsibilities placed upon our shoulders by our forefathers. ln this atomic age no one person can say how long we may live upon this earth. Yet we shape our lives with an optimistic point of view. We carry on as did our fathers. Even though we are constantly seeing greater achievements of science, We readily accept these as realities and incessantly strive for still greater knowledge. From our school We have received something which will never be erased from our mind. We full well realize how much our education means to us as future citizens of the world. Not only the book learning but also the moulding of our minds and spirits into worthy characters will make us the men and women of tomorrow. Let it never be said that the Class of '48 shirked its duties and responsibilities. We now leave only the memory of ourselves at E. G. H. S. We hope it is a memory pleasant and inspiring to both our teachers and fellow-students. Thus we say farewell until our paths cross once again in the future, which we boldly enter into with heads raised high and lips that murmur l shall be a person worthy of tomorrow's World. EVAN S. KRANZLEY President Class of '48 o n 1 i e r 24
