Every game was exciting with out- standing performances from seniors Laura Sherrill, Daphne Moore, Monica Burrell, and Fran Holland. Third row: Jody Black, Terry Edge, Billy Cloninger, Mike Allen, Bryan Smith, Jeff Ramey, Darrin Smith, Chet Spruill, Grey Drum, Bobby Taylor. Not pictured: Lloyd Murks, Lee McKee, Brian Browning, Jamie Gales. The 1983-84 Warrior Wrestling team continued on with the program's winning tradition. The squad again captured the Southwest Conference Championship to go along with its third straight Southwest Conference Tournament Champion- ship. The lists of championships also included the East Gaston Invitational Championship and the Albemarle Invitational Championship. The most important win of the season came at the end of the season when the squad captured the South- western Sectional Tournament Championship over twenty-seven other schools. Sectional champions were Scottie Holden, Jerry Holden, and Lloyd Murks, Also providing leadership for this season were seniors Bryan Smith, Grey Drum, and Chet Spruill, with all three capturing All-Conference honors. With a group of outstand- ing underclassmen returning, the wrestling squad should continue its winning tradition next season.
