This years Cross Country team gained valuable experi- ence this season that will prove to be helpful next year. This year's team should be commended for their individ- ual efforts for the 83 season. Although the girls' tennis team compiled a 3-6 conference and a 3-7 overall record, a foundation was established for an excellent tennis program for girls. The team was young, but six of the team members went to sectionalsg and one team mem- ber, Kami Hostetler, qualified for regionals. Top center: Coach Turpin, David Cauthen Coach Jim Turpin looks on this season as a rebuilding one. He said much improvement was shown in attitude, dedication and team play, which is most important in establishing a winning program. According to the coach, most people look on a successful season as the most wins and least losses, but really it's wheth- er or not the team members have played their best and given 10079. lt takes talent to make a good team but any talent the team lacked was made up for through good attitude and hustle shown throughout the season.
