Afterimage of a Summer Filled with Knowledge Governor’s School was held last summer on the Salem College campus. Admittance was highly selective. Juniors and seniors selected as nominees in artistic and academic fields underwent preliminary screening in their high schools and counties before final acceptance. Those attending Governor’s School were: Brenda Moses—choral music, Wanda Steele—choral music, Ernie Snider— social sicence, and Cindy Sink—choral music. The National Science Foundation for Summer Science Training Program was held at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Studies were made in chemistry, math, computer programming, and astrology. Requirements consisted of a transcript and letters of recommendation. Richard Robertson attended this summer program.
