Coach Morton tells it like it is. Reach for the sky! Seemingly the motto for the 69 Baby Eagles. JUNIOR VARSITY FOOTBALL J.V.’s—Got What It Takes! Maybe a coincidence or maybe a good omen, during the. nineteen sixty nine season, it seemed that every junior varsity football victory was a forerunner of an upcoming varsity win. But is was evident that there was nothing mysterious about why the J.V.’s won. They simply played good, hard football, however, this is not so simple, as any J.V. can tell you. The junior varsity practiced during the late summer months along side the varsity. They played with determination to prove themselves worthy of being varsity material in the following years. Coaches Alan Morton and Robert Hicks instructed their playersin | the mechanics of fine football playing and the Baby Eagles : indicated by their many victories | that they had learned their lesson well. Sparked by admirable | performances by such players as Richard Warren, David Marshall, Joe Bleckley, and Allen Sloan, the | East J.V.’s leave the impression that nineteen seventy will hold a tough varsity squad for East Forsyth. The East J.V.’s have earned an honorable spot in junior varsity football for East Forsyth by their Group II title.
