Junior Marshals sher at Graduation Junior Marshals are the juniors who have been selected to usher at the graduation of the seniors. The Marshals are the students with the highest scholastic record for their year and half at East. The Marshals are announced after the first semester of their junior year. The student with the highest average is the Chief Marshal and the two students who rank second and third are the Co-assistant Chiefs. Students Honored for Service and Scholarship The National Honor Society is made up of students who are at East, be a senior or rising senior, and be outstanding in their outstanding in scholarship, character, and service. The members service to their school, community, and church. must have maintained an over-all 3.0 average during their years FIRST ROW: Kenny Williard, Barry Dowell, Beth Satterthwaite, Corum, Carolyn Petticord, Mary Higgins, Marcia Callahan, Delane Vicki Talley, Bobbi Douthit, Karen Haney, Gayneil Highfill, Benny Hart- Smith. THIRD ROW: Steve Reid, Ann Adams, Candy Walser, Loretta ley, Margi Ross, Ed Parrish, SECOND ROW: Pat Albert, Pat Ezzell, Chandler, Nancy Pender, Mary Pegram, Barbara Withers, Sherry Smith, Barbara Mullinax, Marie Smith, Brenda Stafford, Van Nelson, Annette Frankie Edwards, Sue Dalton, Vicki Byrd, Linda Kuzio. Quill and Scroll members are high school students who have excelled in their work on some form of school publication. The East members are inducted at the Awards Day Program and are rising or graduating seniors. Vicki Talley, Barbara Withers, Linda Kuzio, Joan Martin, Sher- ry Smith, Ed Parrish, and Margi Ross are Quill and Scroll members.

Advanced Placement Students Exeel in Their Work Students who have shown outstanding performance in either math, history, biology, English, or chemistry are selected to attend an advanced course in the subject in which they excel. Those taking Advanced Placement History are Mary Higgins, Hartley. Barry Dowell, Gayneil Highfill, and Eddie Parrish are those taking Advanced Biology. 176 The class is held each school day at Reynolds School.
