“Kast is Dynamite” The girls also have a basketball team. They are unable to play on an official level because East is a 4-A school. But, they usually play twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday. The team defeated-Grimsley, one of the toughest teams they played, by a score of 36-25. We've got to have two points! 155 David Motsinger hustles for the ball. East Eagles—Central 4-A Champs - Fs Rick Grubbs takes reservations for the buses to Burlington. 154 Basketball at East this year was an ideal in the minds of most of the students before the season really got under way. Everyone was looking forward to those Tuesday and Friday nights when they could show their loyalty to their school by just enjoying themselves. And to the players, the boys who sweated it out after school each day to earn a berth in the starting line-up, or even for a chance to play occasionally, basketball season presented an ideal to be achieved. They accepted this challenge with the determination to complete the task. As the season got under way, the Eagles began putting to use the winning combination they had mastered on the practice floor. Soon everyone began to see that the Eagles had what it takes to be number one, and soon they were. East became a familiar name on the top of the Central 4-A basketball ratings. A really happy ending was in view for the players and for the school, an ending which would make an addi- tion to the school’s most prized monument, the trophy case. a2 CTOSSHOne Us @ase es sReEYROIdS aetecen batkiand 59 eae Cldsvilie 48 ........
