As we look back over the years, we will cherish these memories and they will bring to us a smile, a tear, a hope for the future, and a final goodbye, for we will never pass this way again Let's begin these fond memories in Sep- tember. 1975 ...... The first day of school was very exciting as we made many new friends. We were thrilled to have chocolate milk and dis- covered that we could overflow it by blowing bubbles into it. We made our own cookbooks, which is one book no one will use. In the middle of our year. Dina Talbott joined us. In the first grade, we gained Susie La- mison. Tammy Montague, and Denise La- Caze. That winter, the roof fell in and we went to school at the Methodist Church. Mike and Chad were always the bad boys. They were paddled for disappear- ing to the school to get Cindy's coat. They also spent some time in the high chair. Second grade began with Mrs. McCar- thy. but ended with Miss Opalka. It is be- lieved that the stork had brought Mrs. Mc- Carthy a baby and she had to leave We went on our first field trip to the Erie Zoo. where the monkeys threw things at Miss Dunkle. This year. Malissa Hollis and Kelly Guianen joined our class. We started the third grade without Lisa Michaels. Cheryl Motter, and Jim Schre- cengost. but Vicky Westerman. Joy Clymer. and Tina Millword joined us. Our great entertainment was watching The Big Blue Marble . May Melinda carry the address in her memory always. Amy Kuhl. Barbara Thacher, and Todd Nogel joined our class in the fourth grade. This was the year that many tried to learn the game of basketball. Our favorite games were: “4-Corners . ‘7 UP . Who's Missing , and the ultimate game. Catch- n-Kiss Many fourth grade girls had their first experience at smoking on the way to Girl Scouts, and then getting caught. We were very scared to go home that night. One of our classmates felt that Mrs. Silvis was a Crab Lady . Mr. Deffenbaugh made our fifth grade year a memorable one. We will never for- get him hanging Billy Gadley in the closet and making him whistle He took us to Salmon Creek the last day of school. Bob Pack lost his glasses and Susie scrapped her leg on a rock. Vicky was passionately in love with Mr. D. This year. Jim Beck had joined our class, but Gwen Gesin. Diane Smrek. and Denise LaCaze left. In the sixth grade, our boy's basketball Class History team won two tournaments. We win al- ways remember how strange Mrs. Balog was and how funny she looked when she threw a temper tantrum. Our class made it's trip to Pittsburgh, which was full of ex- citement for everyone. Seventh grade was very scary for us. as we would be entering the treacherous high school side. Charlie Sharrow and Sam Ekis joined our class this year. We had our share of essays that year, one of which was when Mr. Kemble gave our class a two thousand word essay. The teachers disliked our class and half of us made it on the failure's list. We were known to be lazy, but we worked hard to put up two streamers and a space shuttle in our room for Honor America Week. In the eighth grade. Ron and Sharon Cable joined our class, but Sam left us. We win never forget health class and Joy throwing water on Mr. Thornton for beer and cigs . Where's the Beef skit was performed by Wally. Chad, and Ron in Honor America Week and it won 1st place in the comedy. We began our ninth grade year without Ron and Sharon Cable. We were upset to know that our class would be the first to need twenty-one credits to graduate We will always remember the incidents that happened in Mrs. Och's class. “The Bum Band won the Talent Show. Tina Mill- ward. Debbi Harp, and Ann Shick left our class. In the tenth grade. Rich Haynie, Craig Misner. and Tina Berkebile joined us. Doug was the first to earn his driver's license and all the girls wanted him to take them out. The Jammin' Janitors won the Talent Show, but our class came in last place in Honor America Week. Greg Manny. Ed Ginkel. and Tye Guianen joined the Class of '88 this year, and helped to make our Junior year one to remember Amy saw Mr. Thornton in his underwear while she was taking a short cut through the locker room. We won 1st place in the homeroom decorations in Honor America Week. We made a trip to Cleveland. Ohio and saw many Je- romes . City Lights was the theme of our Junior Prom. Many hours of work went into it. but many different and fun mem- ories came out of it. The soccer team went to the playoffs this year and the basketball team almost had a riot at Mc- Donalds in Franklin Some of us were al- most left in Clarion, after finding out that our SATs were postponed because of the weather. The last day of school, we went to Cook's Forest to celebrate making it thru our junior year Now we come to our Senior year. We were determined to make this year our best. Some went camping at Beaver Meadows in the summer. Mark Armstrong began the year with us. We will always remember soliciting for the yearbook and all the trouble that was caused. Chad's Halloween party, sled riding. Vicky getting caught with the Playgirl magazine, and of course, the senior romances. Yes. it will be a year that we will always remember. We've had our share of problems, but more important, we've had our share of fun. The Class of '88 wishes the under- classmen the best of luck in the future years and may you have as much fun as our class has had over the years. Gradua- tion will bring an end to our class history. As time draws nearer to say good-bye. we realize that the past twelve years have been good years and that time will never change them, for we will always remem- ber .....
