CLASS HISTORY A long time ago, there was a group of small children, some smiling some crying, whom entered the Methodist Church for their first day of Kindergarten. This group of children was The Class of '85 . This day began the next years of our lives at East Forest. These years were our time for growing, learning, and fun . Many long-lasting friendships began this year. First grade was exciting because it was the first time for most of us to ever be in the school. This year marked the beginning of the girls' infatuation with Steve Miller. We had quite a few additions to our class this year. In Second grade we had split classes. Mrs. Hepinger had one half of the class and Miss Jantz had the other half. Love and hate letters were found in many desks. In Third grade we did the play Three Billy Goats Gruff and the bridge broke. The girls caught the fever for high-heeled shoes. They also caught the fever for Pete Flechsig. In Fourth grade we began changing classes. Many students were given the chance to show off their musical talents by playing the tonet in band class. In Fifth grade we were introduced to Big Bertha . We will never forget the day that Mr. D. broke the paddle over his desk. This year Kevin Fecket blessed our class with his presence. He made our classes very interesting. And who could forget Salmon Creek and fried crawfish. In Sixth grade we were at the top of the ladder. One day the whole class became an added attraction in the hall because we were late from the restrooms. We went to Sea World for our last elementary field trip. In Seventh grade we were pushed back to the bottom of the ladder. We went to Drake's Well this year. The dark map room held a special interest to the couples of our class. Many of our classmates feared the wrath of the dreaded SENIORS. Detention was in style. Sally and Sharon received their nicknames—Moose and Elk. In Eighth grade we went to Kinzua Dam. The bus trip was interesting for most. Our Junior High basketball team won only one game. It was a good year for dances. Candy gained a fascination for older men. Eggs were popular, especially on picnic day. In Ninth grade renovations began on the school. We went to History Day in Clarion. A few of us went on to Hershey. The guys that went to Hershey showed off their talents by serenading some girls at the hotel. In Tenth grade the renovations of school were almost complete. Many of our classmates began Vo-Tech. We received our class rings. During Honor America there was a talent show. Two of our girls showed who had the talent in our class: Lorie and Tammy won first place for their twirling ability. Buster kept his end of the bargain at a basketball game. In Eleventh grade our Boys' Basketball team made it to the play-offs. There was a Junior-Senior football game to break the monotony of school. The Prom theme was Arriverderci Roma, and the gym was elaborately decorated with Roman pillars, large scrolls, purple streamers, and a birdbath as the center piece. At the prom the lights went out. And who could forget Mr. Dreihaup and our Chemistry classes.
