Senior Class History As we entered first grade in 1953, some of us were bashful for the first few days, but we were finally convinced that the teachers did not bite, only reprimand when necessary. Overcoming our shyness of the older students, we found the old school playground a virtual fountain of entertainment. Being exhuberant, we found recess the most challenging part of the day. We recall walking from the old school to the new to go to the cafe- teria, ana looking forward to the time we would move to the new school. Entering junior high, like all little urchins, we were confused with all the activity of changing class. We sponsored a theater party, skating party, and a swimming party. As notorious freshman, we fought the initiating seniors with tooth and nail. .We finally settled down to the drudgery of being underclassmen and proceeded with our education. We best remember our classes in the old library, study halls, and the fun of decorating for dances. Our junior year was extremely eventful. We began to realize how important our education was. We also scurried to complete our prepara- tions for the Boy-Girl Dance and the Senior Prom, Rhapsody in Blue. We gave our junior play, You Can’t Take It V ith You, ' in which we made our debut. Our anticipated senior year fulfilled all our expectations. With many seniors providing the scoring ability, we. East Forest, were able to tie for the U.A.V.L. baseball championship and easily won the League Basketball Championship by having an undefeated team, finishing the regular season with a 21-0 record. The senior play, Introducin’ Susan, under the able direction of Miss Carol Huffman, was presented on April 1U and 15. The play, a comedy, was enjoyed by all and proved to be a success. Our combined Commencement-Baccalaureate exercise was held on Friday, May 27, 1966, at 8:00 in the East Forest High School gymnasium. As we received our diplomas, we realized that we would be leaving our many friends and that we must take our first independent steps toward our individual goals.
