' Qfaaegaaq eww Under the sponsorship of Miss Mae Feather, the freshman class of 1954-55 elected Barbara VanCilder, president, Sharon Williams, vice president, Ann Russell, secretary and treasurer, and Marvin Vandergrift, sergeant-at-arms, to govern them for their first year at East Fairmont High. During the year the class presented a variety show entitled Manhattan Melodies. They also sold Christmas cards as a class project. Carter Hall waselected president of the 1955-56 sophomore class along with Carl Deavers as viee president, Amy Farley, secretary-treasurer, and Robert Newbrough as sergeant-at-arms. With the help of Mr. Pearse and Miss Meredith, the sophomore class was able to produce a fine variety show entitled Old Fashioned Hoedownf' The money raised from this show was put into the class treasury as the sophomores planned ahead for the coming year when as juniors they would sponsor the junior-senior prom. With Carter Hall elected again as junior class president and Amy Farley, secretary and treasurer, Richard Green, vice presidentg and James Huffman sergeant-at-armsg the juniors sponsored the annual junior-senior prom, using the theme Moonlight and Roses. The class also sponsored a variety show, 'fMusic Through the Ages. As the class became highly regarded seniors, they chose Fred Stimmell to act as their president. Nancy Yates was secretary-treasurer, J. J. McLinden, vice president, and Robert Bosley, sergeant- at-arms. The class sponsored the Miss East Fairmont Dance, using the theme Winter Wonderland. They also presented a variety show, Rock and Roll Music, and sold Christmas cards as a class project.
