Although East clitl not reeeive high honors. it is still a privilege to participate in the contest. At the majorette sock hop they had a special clisc-jockey. J. The grand finale of the minstrel. sponsored hy the junior 1-lass. is now on stage. The Girls' Athletic Association held their initiation for new memhers in the month of Novelnher. The girls that day were dressed in their hestf' They wore lots of erinolines. under their straight skirts wrong side out. with their hair in a pony tail on top of their head. Wfiwl What an initiation . . . All four of the Y-Teen groups worked together to fill harrels for the needy. They collected money. food. and clothing for the drive. For if you walked through the school during that week. as most of us did. ean you say that you did your part??? The theme of the Junior Minstrel. also held in N0- veinher. was Around the USA. in 80 Minutesf, Students from all four Classes participated. Lyle Shaffer and the end men appeared on the stage from out of a satellite. The enthusiasm for the great day of the East-West gridiron contest November 11, was wonderful. But again East High was defeated by our Cross-town rivals. Oh well. wait until next yearli' The most important fall event around Fast Fair- mont. is the East-West footlmall game.
