Myers, James 40 PHYSICAL SCIENCE CLUB iNot Photographed, This year We have tried our luclc at forming a Physical Science Cluh and from the interest shown it has heen quite a success. We have twenty active memhers and three alumni have heen received-'even though it costs each 'two-hits a semester. Don't you want to join? But heliore you decide let us tell ou something ahout our activities. Y Vve meet on the fourth Wednesday afternoon of each month'-foftener if we are malcing something special and if Nlrs. Lindley. our sponsor, will tolerate us in her Physics lah room. At our first regular meeting we developed pictures and what lun-we even stayed one night until 10:00-some of the pictures were of you fellows-We had lots ol' failures and successes at this, helieve us. Next a Mr. Joel Johnson hrought a swell enlarging machine. We stayed late that day too-it was real sport. We had the Goddess of Liloertyn right in this huilding. We even had hopes of doing some picture worlc for this Orion, hut we didn't get our equipment in time-too had, too hadl Then we made our own enlarger. Vve haven't had a chance to use it yet. We have a mock trainer for aeronautics made, too. Boy, i't's the loerriesl Chuclc Boyd, our cluh secretary, made it and lots of lcids have had the pleasure of tearing it down. Now we are starting plans for a wind tunnel. Vve have made a drift indicator and psychrometer iwhen we get the thermometersl. You see, weire trying to malce equipment lor next year's aeronautics class. Some of the looys have had lots of fun working in the Chemistry lah under the supervision of our co-sponsor, Miss Justis. Now, it's not all Worlc either-we really have a social side, too. Sometime in March we had a Weiner roast-taffy pulling party at Mrs. Lindley's farm. There were twenty-tive out lor that night. This was in honor ol our memloers who were going to the services in early spring. Then we had a get-together' at Glenn Gamloleys home, and we really hope to have more this spring. President is Tom Davis-an Army Air Corps reserve, 'memloer him? Heis a straight NAU student this year, with live solids-some hoy. Vice President is Darrell Carpenter-want you to lcnow he made a score ol two hundred sixty-seven on Army Air Corps test-now don't hlush with envy. Secretary-Treasurer is Chuck Boyd-our Hhandy Andyi'-l'le's having a spinal operation so as to he ship-shape for Air Service. Sergeant-at-arms is our own John Alderman, president of student hody and center on the Big Tenn team this year. You see, we have some classy guys! uDithers Feather. Boyd Cornett, .lohn Alderman, John Shatter and Don Vincent are memher ol Air Corps Reserve, too. Then we have 'two of the fairer sex in our group. Now, clonit you thinlq you'd like to he a memloer?
