latin club at the end of the year 1936-37, the old latin club was placed on a re- organized basis. it was renamed res publica romana which translated, means the roman republic. the heads of the roman republic were two consuls elected yearly, holding equal power. in this modern roman republic are also two consuls these preside over meetings of the senate, which is composed of all present and former officers of the group, now in school. the censor keeps the club rolls and records. the quaestors attend to all financial matters. the aediles plan programs and other activities. all of the above officials must have been in the club one year previous to taking office. all such members are known' as patricians. the tribune must be elected by and from the plebeians or students who are in the club for their first year. the tribune presides at all club meetings. the constitution is known as uduodecim tabulae or twelve tables. in every way possible the club is patterned after the ancient roman state. progress has been made this year and more will be made in the years to come.
