1 rty elzhl. wednesday-february 9-mr. albert levy, a german jew, gave an interesting talk about his native country in junior and senior assembly. friday-february 11-the faculty dismissed their dignity for a time in order to conquer the freshmen in basket-ball. west-side defeated east at west's home floor. after the game a dance was held where the stu- dents had a swinging good time. tuesday-february 15-in the second game of the year with weston. east fairmont played like the british and were defeated by the minute- men. friday-february 18-the students wait anxiously to see if the teachers return from weston where they supposedly attended a faculty meeting. tuesday-february 22-shinnston won over yellow-jackets on our floor. wednesday-february 23-arnold adams introduced his own original ver- sion of a new school song for east high. friday-february 25-wrestling matches and a game filled out a double feature program forfrida y night. tuesday-march 1-preceding the morgantown-east high game, the g. a. a. sponsored a nickelodian swing. friday-march 4-the golf club was organized. the hi-y club won the inter- club league. tuesday-march' 8-senior girls conquered the faculty. the saturday even- ing ghost staged its final night of production. wednesday-march 9-the first night of the tournament saw the bees go down under farmington. thursday-march 10-explanation of shortened school term by superin- tendent straight. friday-march 11- alky hall and his washboard ramblers and the bar- buscak dancing school presented wholesome fun at co-curricular hour. tuesday-march 15-a movie showing the disastrous effect of alcohol was presented. wednesday-march 16-sophomores conquered the freshmen on the first day of the class tournament. seniors went down to juniors. thursday-march 17-junior boys lost to the seniors. sophomore girls took the honors from the freshmen. friday-march 18- bible's animal circus afforded amusement during co- curricular period. with much excitement the senior boys triumphed over the juniors, and the junior girls were victorious over the sophomores. tuesday-march 22- pledge to gold and blue was elected as the title of the new school song. thursday-march 24-approximately one-hundred students attempted a strike in order to obtain a nine months term of school. result: public sentiment, friday-march 25- black fantasy, a successful minstrel sponsored by the yellow jacket was snappy and most modern. thursday-march 31-a fascinating demonstration of liquid air held stu- dents' attention on scientific wonders. kingmont defeated norwood at the first evening of the sports carnival. tumbling, boxing and wrestling matches were attractive.

tuesday-november 2-new french club members were formally initiated. thursday-november 4-barrackville succumbed to east high, 14-0. friday-november 5-since some of the faculty attended the s. e. a., there was no school in session. tuesday-november 9-the latin club, with the senate presiding, held a meeting. thursday--november 11-west high lost a hard fought battle to the brilliant yellow-jackets, 14-19. hurrah! friday-november 12-rules or no rules a few hundred of the students of the school took a victory holiday. tuesday-november 16-betty lee brown entertained the library club at her home. 1 thursday-november 18-joe church and his rythmnairres gave a remem- berable performance sponsored by the hi-y. friday-november 19-a boxing exhibition offered amusement. the g. a. a.'s gave an active party and initiation. thursday--november 26-recuperation day, no school. monday-november 29-gerry horner was announced as president of the the newly organized junior girl reserves. tuesday-december 7- the arrival of kitty was an appreciated comedy presented by the thespians. friday-december 10-basketball season opened with a game between the varsity and faculty. the girl reserves presented ballet dancing in the auditorium. monday-december 13-the students of the entire school attended a student mix which proved to be very popular. tuesday-december 14- tune in, was an operetta given at west high which also had participants from our school. wednesday-december 15-going back to roman days, the saturnalia was an interesting activity of the latin club. thursday-december 16-a nickelodian was purchased, the pride of east high. tuesday-january 4-east side and grafton played, with honors going to grafton. wednesday-january 5-thespian troop held their initiation. friday-january 7-barbuscak dancing school performed for the students for the benefit of the orion. tuesday-january ll-east high vs. mannington. friday-january 14-enthusiastic east-west game. west won. tuesday-january 18-again grafton met east fairmont. friday-january 21-st. peters and east high met in east high gymnasium. monday-january 24- anne of greene gables was admirably portrayed, and presented by the senior class. wednesday-january 26-popularity contest selected jo jenkins and herman weeks as most popular students. thursday-january 27-semester exams. friday-january 28-st. peters was a guest of east fairmont. it was a rough and tough battle. co-curricular period featured a hill-billy show. thursday-february 3-father and daughter banquet was given by county girl reserves to honor their parents. fnrty-leve
