-J.. +,N GUIDANCE SER VICE The primary purpose of the guidance program is to provide a set of resource Services aimed at improving the development and adjustment of individual pupils and at meeting their special needs, not otherwise provided for in the curriculum. The guidance program means many things to many people. In the definition and questions that follow, a point of view is presented in relation to a few of the many common issues that exist. Why use guidance service instead of guidance ? The word guidance frequently has been misunder- , stood. So many concepts have been attached to the word in education that it has outlived its usefulness.Its connotation, for example, is frequently counseling. The guidance program provides many services including counseling which is considered as the crux ofthe program I 5 v-...aw What services does our program provide for the pupil and the school as a whole ?
